Playground Equipment Removal and Installation

The contract work to be performed consists of furnishing all required labor, materials, equipment, implements, parts, and supplies necessary for the removal of old playground equipment, EFW and poured in place fall material, design and install new playground equipment, safety surface installation at Two park locations: Cottonwood Park & John Breaux Park. Please bid each site separately The playground equipment should include play components for children ages 2-12 with an emphasis on equipment designed for children ages 2-8. The equipment can be provided in one or more structures. The playground should accommodate the widest possible range of activities that will promote physical fitness, having fun, and encouraging social interaction. Among the play activities that should be considered are: balancing, climbing, crawling, hanging, imagining, manipulating, pushing, pulling, riding, see-sawing, sitting, sliding, swinging, and whirling. The playground equipment can be made of metal, plastic, or a combination. The playground equipment should be in full compliance with both American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) guidelines. The equipment shall be accessible to the handicapped in accordance with State and Federal laws.Each proposal shall recommend and include safety surface material that is believed to be the best value for the money. A portion of the safety surface shall be handicapped accessible. Proposals must include the cost of the play system equipment, delivery charges, installation charges, safety surface installation and the cost to remove the old play equipment, remove existing fall material and safety surfaces. The successful bidder shall provide all insurance necessary for the installation portion of the project.The area of Cottonwood Park playground is 90’ x 45’ The dimensions of the play area shall not be changed (same footprint). The area for John Breaux Park playground is approximately 61’ x 45’ The dimensions of the play area shall not be changed (same footprint).Clean up job-related debris and leave the playground ready for play.
