Description | Repairs of City Hall HVAC Equipment City of Wilkes-Barre will receive sealed bids for the repairs of City Hall HVAC equipment which is generally comprised of removal and replacement of existing chiller, piping, wiring and controls and construction of a steel support platform including all incidental work related thereto. The project will be bid as one prime general contract. All times will be strictly enforced. Bidders are encouraged to provide their bids well in advance of the time listed above. Bidders attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum wages and salaries in accordance with the provisions of the Prevailing Wage Act 442 and contained in the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, must be paid throughout the duration of this project. Bid security, in an amount equal to ten (10%) of the total bid, shall be submitted with each Bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap or family status, and that to the greatest extent feasible utilize project area business located in or owned in substantial part of project area residents. In accordance with Executive Orders 11625 and 12138, the successful bidder must utilize, to the greatest extent feasible, minority and/or women-owned business concerns which are located within the municipality, county, or general trade area. In addition to Equal Employment requirements of Executive Order 11246, as amended, the contractor must also comply with 2 CFR 200.231 with regard to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in his aggregate on-site construction work force, materials and equipment. City of Wilkes-Barre reserves the right to reject any or all bids or portions thereof, and to waive any informality in the bidding. The selection of the successful bidder shall be made in the best interest of City of Wilkes-Barre, as they solely determine, and bidders acknowledge this by submitting a bid. Bids may be held by City of Wilkes-Barre for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids, before awarding the Contract. In this period of time no Bidder may withdraw their bid. City of Wilkes-Barre does not discriminate of the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, family and handicapped status in employment or the provision of services. This project is financed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority. Wilkes-Barre City Hall is a facility accessible to persons with disabilities. The Work includes REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING HVAC CHILLER UNITS AND RELATED WORK. |
