Description | The successful bidder will mechanically sweep the entirety of all paved roads within the City from pavement edge to pavement edge. Sweeping shall take as many passes as necessary to clean the roadways and remove debris in a manner that is acceptable to the City of Big Bear Lake. Interested proposers should visit the site to understand the configuration of the roadways and the level of debristo be removed. No extra compensation shall be made for the number of passes or level of debris collected. The City of Big Bear Lake is seeking proposalsfrom qualified companies to provide annualstreet sweeping services, pursuant to the specifications provided within this document and all applicable laws and regulations. Street sweeping is a key activity to keep up the appearance of the City, to remove cinders and other debris left on the roadway from the winter season, and contribute toward the City's compliance efforts with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). The City performs routine, ongoing sweeping inhouse throughout the year and to supplement that effort, this proposal calls for a one-time sweeping of Citymaintained roadways within Big Bear Lake. The City of Big Bear Lake maintains approximately 88 centerline miles of streets within the City limits. Over the course of the year, the streets collect waste and debris from litter and other sources. Additionally, during the winter months, the City uses a large amount of cinders as part of the City's snow management efforts. Staff is seeking proposals for a one-time sweeping of all streets within the jurisdiction of the City of Big Bear Lake, which is approximately 88 centerline miles, to clean the roadways and remove all debris. It should be noted that the City of Big Bear Lake does not have jurisdiction or maintenance obligations over State Route 18, Big Bear Boulevard, as that is within the jurisdiction of the State of California and therefore, it is not within the scope of this project. Furthermore, there are approximately seventy (70) additional roadway sections within the City limits that are not maintained by the City of Big Bear Lake. These sections are not included within the 88 centerline miles, and therefore the scope of work, and they will be clarified with the contractor before work commences. April 18, 2023 Deadline for consultant questions, no later than 3:00 p.m. The City of Big Bear Lake reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive any minor irregularities. |
