Erie County Holding Center Hot Water Tanks Replacement - Electrical

1. Remove and dispose of all asbestos-containing gaskets associated with all pipe flanges in the water heater room that are scheduled for removal. It is assumed that all gaskets in the water heater room are asbestos-containing. Refer to plumbing demolition drawing P-101 for additional information. Approximately 11 square feet of gasket material will be removed. 2. Perform exploratory demolition as required to allow for sampling of potential asbestos-containing moisture barrier between the interior brick wall and the exterior sandstone block facade. If asbestos-containing moisture barrier is discovered, remove interior brick and moisture barrier as necessary to facilitate core drilling of the sandstone block by other trades. Coordinate work with the general contractor for the exact location of exploratory demolition. Approximately 2 square feet of moisture barrier may be removed, if present. 3. Core through the assumed asbestos-containing asphalt roofing system down through the deck to the corridor below to facilitate the installation of one 2" natural gas vent pipe and two 6" flue pipes. Refer to new work plumbing drawing P-202 for additional information and coordinate with the general contractor for the exact core locations. Approximately 1 square foot of roofing will be removed.
