Description | **NEW Amendment (9/8/2023) that extends solicitation posting and corrects File Attachment *** The United States Deparment of Agriculture (USDA) has a requirement for the installation of a permanent woven wire fence for wolf abatement near Maple, WI. A firm-fixed price order is anticipated. This solicitation is issued as a total Small Business Set-Aside. The appropriate NAICS code for this requirement is 238990 with a size standard of $19M. The product code associated with this procurement is Y1PZ. Amendment 3 on 8/31/2023 made the following changes: Updates the due date for quotes to "12:00 P.M. EST on Tuesday September 5th, 2023" Updates RFQ instructions to: Add page numbers for Provisions that need to be filled out Specifies that quotes should be sent via email to Amanda.Imlach@usda.gov Adds Attachment 4 (Wire Fence Style Example Pic) to Attachment List Amendment 4 on 9/8/2023 made the following changes: Updates the due date for quotes to "1:00 P.M. EST on Friday September 15th, 2023" Correxts Attachment 2- The wrong file was uploaded previously. This amendment adds the correct File. of Work Build a predator-proof fence around the perimeter of a calving pasture to prevent wolf/cattle conflict. Estimated at 6,450 feet. Six gate openings detailed on attached map with exact coordinated with landowner. 2.0 Background This property has a 15+ year history of wolf/cattle conflict. The operation is currently experiencing verified depredations and wolf caused harassment of the herd. The fence would create a safe area for calving and a sanctuary for the herd when needed. 3.0 Contractor Requirements Technical Specifications 1.) Materials Specifications A. Wooden Products 1. Posts must be straight. 2. Posts must be free from cracks (serviceable). 3. Posts must be dry (cured) (no sap). 4. Posts must meet diameter specification at smallest point. (IE: the 5" - 6" x 10' posts must be 5" - 6" in diameter on small end) and must be: * Gate, corner, and center in-line brace posts shall be 5 - 6 inches round x 10 feet long * Vertical and horizontal brace posts shall be 5 inches round x 10 feet long * Vertical and horizontal in-line brace posts shall be 5 inches round x 10 feet long * Line posts shall be 4 inches round x 10 feet long * Gate and corner assemblies shall be of "double H" construction as specified in the Installation Specifications * In-line brace assemblies shall be constructed as specified in the Installation Specifications 5. Posts pressure treated with pentachlorophenol, CCA, or ACZA must be treated to a minimum net retention of 0.4 pounds of preservative per cubic foot of wood and may be Douglas Fir, Western Larch, Western Hemlock, Red (Norway) Pine, Jack Pine, Ponderosa Pine, Southern Yellow Pine, Lodgepole Pine, or Northern White Cedar -or- Posts pressure treated with ACQ must be treated to a minimum net retention of 0.4 pounds of preservative per cubic foot of wood and may be either Douglas Fir or Southern Pine. 6. MINIMUM preservative penetration is 1/2 inch and 90% of sapwood for all species listed except: Southern yellow pine shall have a MINIMUM 2 1/2 inch penetration and 85% of sapwood. |
