Description

The owner has determined a prequalified list of design build companies. For RFP D/B - Design-Build-Finance Services for North Bulkhead Berths 1-6 Realignment The County Mayor, Miami-Dade County, pursuant to Chapter 287.055 of Florida Statutes, and Sections 2-8.1 and 2-10.4, and Implementing Order 3-34 and Administrative Order 3-39 of the Miami-Dade County Code, announces that PortMiami will require design-build services for reconstruction and realignment of the North Bulkhead. Q & A deadline: Nov 05, 2021 6:00:00 PM EDT Design-Build-Finance Services for the North Bulkhead Berths 1-6 Realignment Project - PortMiami is reconstructing and realigning the 7,168-foot length of the North Bulkhead due to the advanced deterioration of the existing steel sheet pile structure. Numerous holes and gaps have developed over time in the existing 50+ year old bulkhead resulting in the loss of backfill material and the formation of voids in the apron area creating hazards to operations and other unsafe conditions. The scope of services includes Port and Waterway Systems Engineering, Planning, Design, Construction and Post Design Services. These services are required to support port operations by providing a stable and safe bulkhead for cruise terminal berths 1-6 recognizing the present and future needs of the industry. The project may include all or some of the following components: coral relocation; excavation of channel bottom; preparation of caisson bedding layer; disposal of sediments; caisson bulkhead berthing structure; surface drainage and outfalls; scour protection; mooring and fendering components; ground improvement under the existing apron; expansion and reconstruction of the existing apron; new concourse(s); Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB) runways; PBB temporary relocation, reinstallation and commissioning; PBB dismantling and disposal; coordination for delivery, installation and commissioning of new PBBs; MOT during construction; new utilities including water, electrical and IT routing; relocation of shore power systems; apron demolition and reconstruction; construction staging; wayfinding; and all related infrastructure and structure work ancillary to the basic work scope. Site Work may include but is not limited to the bulkhead realignment work noted in the section below and all work behind the bulkhead for demolition and reconstruction of the existing apron area, including, but not limited to, demolition of existing partial pile cap, utilities, asphalt and concrete pavements, concrete relieving platforms, upper sections of concrete piles and other miscellaneous surface and surface obstructions, ground improvement of the subsurface soils behind the existing bulkhead, grading, new paving, PBB concrete runways, concourse construction, PBB relocation and reinstallation, relocation of shore power systems, and installation of new bollards, drainage systems, .electrical and lighting systems, fire protection systems, CCTV and telecommunications/AV/IT systems and integration to the Terminal Wide Paging System. Integration of new construction and safeguards to existing water and sewer, fire protection/water main, storm water drainage, and additional utilities as needed.
