Escalante Municipal Watershed Lop and Pile

Escalante Ranger District, Dixie National Forest is requesting Services in this contract to provide up to 164 acres of lop and pile type work: 1. Line Item 1 (Developed Springs): 92.7 total acres a. Lop and Pile 2. Line Item 2 (Undeveloped Springs): 19.6 total acres a. Lop and Pile 3. Line Item 3 (Perennial Wetlands): 15.3 total acres a. Lop and Pile 4. Line Item 4 (East Side Springs and Wetlands): 36.4 total acres a. Lop and Scatter Total acres awarded will be dependent on availability of funds. Acreage: +/- 164 acres dependent upon bids and budget constraints. Work under this Contract is located within the John Allen Bottom and Deep Creek drainages north of Escalante in Garfield County, Utah. The legal locations of the treatment units are Township 33 South, Range 2 East, Sections 17. The work locations are shown on the attached vicinity and treatment unit maps. Elevations range from 8,500 feet to 9,000 feet within the project area. Access to the site: Access is possible by a combination of paved highways, county, Forest Service dirt surface roads and overland hiking. Vehicle travel is limited to designated routes; off road/trail vehicle travel is prohibited.
