New London Community Recreational Center

As of July 5, 2023, this project is in the final planning stages with construction expected to commence mid-July 2023. A construction manager has been selected. Downes Construction Company, LLC is the Construction Manager on behalf of the City of New London for the construction of the new 57,000 square foot Community Recreational Center located on 1 Recreation Way New London, CT. Downes is soliciting qualified subcontractors for various trade packages. This project has a Project Labor Agreement. Bidding with Construction will commence in the Fall of 2022. This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services.
