Engineering Services – Special Projects - Environmental, Traffic Signal & Intersection Design, Road Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Sewer, Mechanical, Electrical, Traffic Engineer-- A Special Projects Engineer provides a wide range of engineering services on a project-by-project basis. The engineering and/or consulting firm shall be a New Jersey licensed professional in the area of their expertise. When directed, the engineer or consultant shall provide services necessary for engineering and consulting services in the following areas: civil engineering, surveying, landscape and park design, construction inspection, MEP engineering, environmental engineering and consulting, geotechnical services, emergency management services, environmental hygiene services, health and safety services, road reconstruction and rehabilitation design, traffic signal/intersection design, sewer system evaluation & design. The Traffic Engineer will be responsible for reviewing traffic impact studies, parking studies, etc. on an as needed basis for the Planning Board and Board of Adjustment. Preparation of reports and attendance at meetings will be required. Engineering Services – Performance Monitoring, Management and Sale of Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SREC’s)-- In an effort to promote energy savings, Piscataway Township had solar energy panels installed on multiple facilities within the Township. The Township hopes to generate a substantial amount of revenue with the sale of Solar Renewable Energy credits (SREC’s). SREC’s are tradable credits created by the Generator Attribute Tracking System (GATS) administered by PJM-EIS. An SREC is a tradable, representing the green attributes of producing energy renewably and specifically by using the sun as the fuel source. One SREC is equivalent to one megawatt hour (or 1,000 kilowatt hours) of electricity. Engineering Services – Land Surveyor-- The land surveyor shall be a New Jersey licensed land surveyor. When directed, the land surveyor shall provide Land Surveying and related professional services at various locations in Piscataway on a project-by-project basis. Preparation of plans, reports and attendance at meetings may be required.
