Description | The University of Louisville Procurement Services, on behalf of Physical Plant Department, (PPD) is requesting bids from a qualified contractor for the asbestos abatement of the Natural Sciences Building located on the Belknap Campus. The awarded contractor shall provide all permits, certifications, materials, equipment, labor, and supervision for the project. The University of Louisville is issuing an Invitation to Bid, soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide all services for the complete abatement and disposal of Asbestos Containing Materials >1% in the Natural Sciences Building, as outlined in the asbestos inspection reports dated 4-13-2023 by Environmental Concerns. The building is Located at 215 Eastern Parkway and is set to undergo major electrical and mechanical upgrades starting in May of 2024-December 2024. Abatement will commence and complete in May 2024. A summary of the survey is attached below. o 9" floor tile at various locations - note: in many areas 12" tile will have to be removed to get to the 9" o 12" Ceiling Tile Mastic Throughout - all ceiling tiles should be removed exposing the mastic. Abatement should include areas of disturbance as indicated in the report as well as any areas where core drilling and or penetrations will be made Bidder should anticipate 4 ea. New duct penetrations. AHU-4 supply/return first-ground floor, AHU-6 supply/return second - first floor . o Steam supply lines in the classrooms and hallways o Asbestos pipe insulation in the chases from penthouse to basement o The steam line in the central part of the penthouse contains asbestos. Vendors requesting clarifications to this Invitation to Bid may submit in writing questions for official response by the University.
