F--Air Monitor - Replace Fire Alarms Batavia VAMC

The contractor will have to hang conduit above the ceilings for the new fire alarm contractor. Where there is a suspended ceiling there may be a hard plaster ceiling above that. The hard plaster ceiling is original to the facility via 1932 and the suspended ceiling came along after. The plaster ceiling has the potential for asbestos material above the ceiling from piping insulation. There is also the potential for ACM above the suspended ceiling should the plaster ceiling having become compromised. In areas where we are running surface mounted conduit, we still may have to go above the ceiling and remove the existing conduit. The project calls to install new conduit and conductors and remove the old conduit and conductors for the fire alarm systems. With respect to running conduit above ceilings. The contractor will also have containment(s) and or containment boots where they will have set up to run conduit and remove conduit. These containments will entail air monitor testing and establishing the baseline prior to this work, monitor the air outside of this work area and clear the air inside.
