Boilers, Controls Contractor Services

The Neptune Township Board of Education utilizes contractor services to maintain and install Boilers/Controls/HVAC systems. The Board will establish a “Contracted Services Agreement” with a firm, to perform on a per hour basis, on call repairs and installations. The intent of this bid is to provide for annual contracted service on an on-going basis relative to the maintenance, installation, and/or replacement of plumbing components in the Neptune Township Schools. It is the intent, and option of the Board to bid specific separate projects as they are identified and can be quantified. This bid includes, but is not limited to, the items listed below: 1) Annual Boiler Service 2) Inspect and clean pilot/ignition system, adjust as required. 3) Inspect blower, squirrel cage, draft inducer, belt condition and tension, clean inlet air vanes of dirt accumulation. 4) Lubricate burner components as required. 5) Check burner operating and safety controls, interlocks, motor contacts and fuses. Check safety relief valve and low water cut off operation. 6) Perform safety check procedure to test the complete flame safeguard system. Test will verify fuel valve tightness, safety shutdown and lockout upon failure to light the pilot, and upon failure to ignite main flame, upon loss of main flame. 7) Check boiler-operating temperature/pressure. Check fuel pressures, motor amperage and record at both low and high fire. 8) Check overall burner sequence and firing operation. Make adjustments as required. 9) Check all areas for gas leaks. Any faulty conditions discovered during inspection will be reported to the Facilities Department.
