Description | The owner has selected a Construction Manager. A timeline for construction has not yet been established. The City of Klamath Falls (Owner) solicits proposals from construction firms interested in providing Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC) services for the F-15 Static Display & Plaza. Project Description: The City of Klamath Falls received a retired F-15 aircraft from the Oregon Air National Guard to be used as a static display focal point in the middle of a new plaza. The plaza is planned to consist of concrete with steps, ramp, landscape planters, up-lighting, etc. Other minor site improvements are also planned (sidewalks, electrical controls, and lighting). The F-15 aircraft will be provided a concrete foundation below the plaza with a structural streel frame to hold it in the air. A new stucco façade will be constructed around the frame to hide it and provide a location to install a new plaque. The F-15 aircraft is currently stored at Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls and will require preparation, transportation of less than 10 miles, fabrication (minor elements to hold wings/flaps in place permanently), lifting into place (crane services), and more. The Oregon Air National Guard is assisting with aircraft preparation and access to / coordination with Kingsley Field will be very critical to the success of this project. Questions regarding the information contained in the RFP must be submitted to the RFP Contact no later than 4:00pm PST, November 15th, 2022. All questions must be RECEIVED by the specified date and time. No oral questions will be accepted other than at the Pre-proposal Conference. E-mail questions to the addresses below.
