Description | The Berkeley Campus of the University of California is seeking an Architect ("Consultant") to perform programing, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding, construction administration and other support services as required by the Executive Design Professional Agreement (EDPA) for the CRP21 Gender Inclusive Restroom on the 1st floor of the Social Sciences Building. The current layout has a men's and women's restroom sharing a common wall. Renovations will include combining the two spaces, maintaining the code compliant fixture count, reworking the MEPFP to fit the new layout and replacing the following: lighting, MEPFP fixtures, partitions, plumbing, fixtures, and finish accessories. Design services required to create schematic design documents, design development documents, and Construction Documents. Incorporating necessary approvals including but not limited to the campus CASp reviewer, Campus Fire Marshall (CFM), Coordinating Committee for the Removal of Architectural Barriers (CCRAB) and Campus Building Department (CBD). The University anticipates the project will be bid as a Design/Bid/Build. The selected firm shall work collaboratively with the University to maintain project budget and scope, value engineer as required, and recommend actions to expedite schedule. The selected firm shall perform detailed field evaluations in order to accurately understand existing conditions These services will begin immediately following the selection of the Architect. Construction cost estimate to be included Will retain all specialized consultants as required to provide the full package of services. A detailed scope of work for the contract will be negotiated with the selected Consultant. The University anticipates that Construction Documents to be complete in approximately twelve (12) months Questions about this RFQ or the project should be submitted electronically no later than 5:00p.m. PST on October 6, 2022. The awarded subconsultant shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. The successful Consultant shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. |
