Description | The Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, materials and equipment needed to complete the OPS Security Fence and Access Modifications – Segment 8 Fence Project located at Smithsonian Institution's National Zoological Park. Summary of Work including but not limited to: In maintaining and protecting the Zoo, the Smithsonian has determined the need to improve the perimeter conditions. The scope of this project is to complete the perimeter fence line at Segment 8 (Amazonia) and create a new pathway from Kids Farm to Amazonia as it crosses the Service Drive to Mane Restaurant and the Police Headquarters at Gate 15. Modifications to Research Hill area not included in this project. The perimeter fence line will utilize vehicle rated fencing that is similar in style to the standard NZP ornamental fence. There are new swing gates at Gates 16 and 17 while Gate 15 will continue to use the existing sliding gate and a barrier arm will be added uphill to guide pedestrians to stay on the new path connecting Kids Farm and Amazonia. |
