Description | The intent of this Call for Bids is to purchase a material for use as a surface stabilizing agent on various Yakima County roads in 2023. Bidders should be aware that the quantity is an estimate only, and may vary. The material is to be delivered, upon order by Yakima County to the following railroad siding location, (or proposed alternate location) and in the approximate total amount listed. Delivery Location Quantity Yakima, Washington 5,500 Tons Sunnyside, Washington 2,500 Tons The material quantity shown is for Magnesium Chloride. This material shall be applied at a rate of 0.40 gallons per square yard. If the proposed material requires significantly different application rates or methods, indicate the difference in sufficient detail to allow for an accurate analysis of the bids. Yakima County reserves the right to make complete or partial award to any supplier, if in the best interest of Yakima County. Yakima County is exempt from all Federal Excise Tax. A certified check, cashier's check, cash or bid bond made payable to the Treasurer of the County of Yakima for an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total bid amount must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith and as a guarantee that if awarded the Contract the Bidder shall execute the Contract. This bond will be held in reserve by Yakima County to act as a Performance Bond subsequent to the award and execution of a contract with successful bidder. The project will begin on or about the 1st of May, 2023, and will be completed on or about the 12th of July, 2023. Bidders should be aware that the project could be disrupted due to inclement weather or other conditions beyond the control of Yakima County. The material shall be labeled for use as a dust inhibitor. The bidder shall furnish a chemical analysis of material bid to demonstrate that this product would be capable of performing as a surface stabilization agent, similar to magnesium chloride. If a lignin sulfonate product is bid, the solids shall be 50% percent and lignin sulfonate shall not be less than 55%. If magnesium chloride is bid the total solids content of magnesium chloride must be greater than 30%. Supplier shall also provide Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for material to be supplied, prior to commencing supply. You must be on the plan handers list in order to bid on this project.
