Description | Submit all questions regarding this RFQ in writing to John Martini at john.martini@uc.edu with the project number included in the subject line (no phone calls please). Questions will be answered and posted to the Opportunities page on the OFCC website The University of Cincinnati seeks Statements of Qualifications for a Hammock Village design on the University of Cincinnati's Sigma Sigma Commons. Sigma Sigma Commons is located on the University of Cincinnati's Uptown West Campus and is a primary outdoor open space designed by Hargreaves & Associates. The primary open space for this design is located on the southeast corner of the CRC Student Residence Hall, and includes a 16,000sqft. geometric mounded greenspace that is part turf and part groundcover. Accessibility and connections to the adjacent areas are also included. All hardscape, landscape, site furnishings, lighting, and infrastructural elements need to be designed. A phasing schedule will be developed by the AE to minimize disruption to student activities during construction. The design must respect the Hargreaves & Associates' original design intent, but also reflect emerging trends and student needs on a densely populated campus. Components of the project include development of an exciting, usable, and attractive primary recreational space involving grading, a shade structure, and lighting. The AE will provide an estimate of probable cost and construction-phasing schedule. Construction oversight is required at each milestone and will be a minimum of 2 hours on site each week of construction. Post construction assistance will include final punch list of items to be addressed before project conclusion. As-built drawings will be provided to the University of Cincinnati office of Planning + Design + Construction. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. |
