Description

As of June 20, 2023, construction is underway, however, an exact timeline for completion has not been confirmed. No further inquiries to be accepted. Due to having received only two (2) bids by the original bid deadline, New Hanover County is readvertising to receive sealed bids from qualified contractors for construction of the New Hanover County Landfill Leachate Treatment Project, RFB No. 23-0329. Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of North Carolina at the time bids are submitted. Pursuant to N.C.G.S. S87-15, it will be necessary for contractors to show evidence of such license in the bid package. All prime bidders on this project must be pre-qualified in accordance with New Hanover County's Prequalification Ordinance, in order to bid. Bids will not be opened unless the bidder is pre-qualified. The Work under this contract includes the construction of a new aeration basin and associated pumps, blowers, and chemical systems to treat leachate wastewater. The new basin will be integrated with an existing ultrafiltration process to function as a membrane bioreactor system. Other improvements include upgrades to the flushing system for the ultrafiltration membranes, upgrades to a laboratory space, and new facilities for handling residuals produced in the membrane bioreactor. For further information, please contact Jonathan Treadway at 919.325.3507 The bidder shall make good faith efforts, as defined in the bid specifications, to subcontract 10% of the dollar value of the single prime contract to businesses owned and controlled by minorities.Bidders are required to submit along with their bid specification documentation demonstrating that they made good faith efforts to meet established goals. Instructions are included in the bid specification documents. Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid. Bidders may not withdraw their Bids for a period of forty-five days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays after the actual date of the opening of the Bids, unless withdrawal is in accordance with North Carolina General Assembly Chapter 143 Section 129-1. The Successful Bidder must furnish a 100 percent Performance Bond and a 100 percent Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to the OWNER. The OWNER reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest *This project has been awarded and all trades have been let.
