Description | The Naval Foundry and Popeller Center (NFPC) in Philadelphia has a requirement for relining of Inductotherm Coreless Induction Furnace. The furnance is also known as the FB-12, 3Ton and FB-9, 25Ton furnace. After completion of the relining, the furnace shall be fully operational and in good working condition. Reline the 3-Ton (FB-12): 3.1.1 The contractor shall remove the existing lining and install a new lining in the 3-Ton (FB-12) Coreless Induction Furnace. 3.1.2. The contractor shall remove the existing lining back to the split brick on the side walls of the furnace. 3.1.3. The contractor shall remove old monolithic plastic from the spout area and remove the old ground fault detection wiring from the base of the furnace. 3.1.4. The contractor shall remove all debris caused by the removal of the existing liner. 3.1.5. The contractor shall apply a new micro-weave cloth over the split brick and install a new ground fault detection wiring assembly. 3.1.6. The contractor shall provide a finished work surface on the top of the furnace. As a courtesy, the Government estimates the required quantities of materials in section 3.1.7 of the Statement of Work. If the estimated quantities of materials are not sufficient, the contractor is still required to complete the work at no additional cost to the Government unless the additional cost is unreasonable. 3.1.7. The contractor shall provide and install the following: 3 ton liner form in stock Allied Mineral’s dri-vibe 697 Allied Mineral’s dri-vibe 493 top cap 1 roll Minro weave cloth, 2/each of thermocouples Reline the 25-Ton (FB-9): 3.2.1. The contractor shall remove the existing lining and install a new lining in the 25- Ton (FB-9) Coreless Induction Furnace. 3.2.2. The contractor shall remove the existing lining back to the split brick on the side walls of the furnace. 3.2.3. The contractor shall remove old monolithic plastic from the spout area and remove the old ground fault detection wiring from the base of the furnace. 3.2.4. The contractor shall remove all debris caused by the removal of the existing liner. 3.2.5. The contractor shall apply a new micro-weave cloth over the split brick and install a new ground fault detection wiring assembly. 3.2.6. The contractor shall provide a finished work surface on the top of the furnace. As a courtesy, the Government estimates the required quantities of materials in section 3.1.7 of the Statement of Work. If the estimated quantities of materials are not sufficient, the contractor is still required to complete the work at no additional cost to the Government unless the additional cost is unreasonable. 3.2.7. The contractor shall provide and install the following: 3 ton liner form in stock Allied Mineral’s dri-vibe 697 Allied Mineral’s dri-vibe 493 top cap 1 roll Minro weave cloth, 2/each of thermocouples 1/each leak detector wire assembly |
