Mechanical Renovation Project at their Junior High School

The Community Unit School District 201 Board of Education is accepting bids only from mechanical contractors for a mechanical renovation project at their junior high school in Westmont, Illinois. The mechanical contractor will act as the project general contractor. Bids will not be accepted from firms other than mechanical contractors. The scope of work period includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary for completion of the work indicated in the Bid Documents including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: cutting and patching existing construction and finishes, temporary protection, general commissioning, selective demolition, miscellaneous concrete, structural steel framing, cutting & patching existing roof systems and flashings, penetration firestopping, removal & reinstallation of hollow metal doors, frames, & hardware, non-structural metal framing, gypsum board, acoustical panel ceilings, interior painting, exterior painting, plumbing insulation, plumbing piping and valves, plumbing equipment, HVAC system cleaning, HVAC motors, HVAC valves, vibration isolation, HVAC identification, testing, balancing, & adjusting for HVAC, duct insulation, HVAC equipment insulation, HVAC piping insulation, commissioning of HVAC, instrumentation and control devices for HVAC, direct-digital controls system for HVAC, gas piping system, hydronic piping, hydronic specialties, hydronic pumps, HVAC water treatment, air duct accessories, HVAC power ventilators, air terminal units, air outlets and inlets, HVAC air cleaning devices, breechings, chimneys, and stacks, condensing boilers, scroll water chillers, modular indoor central-station air-handling units, terminal heating and cooling units, electrical power, low-voltage electrical, power system studies, switchboards, panelboards, wiring devices, enclosed switches, surge protection devices, interior lighting, lighting controls, extension/modification of existing intercom/master clock system, extension/modification of existing fire alarm system, and all other labor, materials, and accessories required for a complete and proper installation. The work site is Westmont Junior High School, 944 Oakwood Drive, Westmont, IL 60559. On-site construction work is scheduled to commence next year during the 2023 summer break on approximately Tuesday, June 6, 2023. The Contractor must achieve Substantial Completion for all work on or before Friday, August 11, 2023. Liquidated damages will apply to the Substantial Completion date. Required prequalification documentation must be submitted in Adobe PDF format to the Districts Architect via the email address listed above on or before 4:00 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. A Bidders failure to submit the required prequalification documentation will be considered grounds for rejection of the Contractors bid. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid amount. The successful Bidder must furnish One Hundred Percent (100%) performance and labor and material payment bonds for the full amount of the Contract Sum including any accepted alternate bids. The Contractor must not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and must comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). The Community Unit School District 201 Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, reject nonconforming bids, reject conditional bids, waive irregularities in the bidding procedures, or to accept any bid that, in its sole opinion, best serves the interests of the School District.
