Replace Hot Water System - Facilities-21 - Kenosha County - Purchasing

The hot water system at the Kenosha County Detention Center is an intricate and complicated series of pipes, valves, tanks, pumps and motors that connects the hot water source (boiler) to the ultimate equipment (kitchen, laundry, showers, etc.). The source, piping and ultimate equipment are functioning properly but the "infrastructure" of valves, tanks, motors and pumps will have reached the end of its useful life and will need replacement in 2026. This is a 24/7/365 facility that cannot be shut down if hot water is not available. If not replaced, the existing system will be patched and repaired as needed depending upon the availability of parts and components. As of April 13, 2023, this project is included in Kenosha County's CIP FY 2023-2027 and funding is allotted for FY 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
