Description

Scope: Exterior facades at the Clarkston Campus of Georgia Piedmont Technical College have reached end of life service. The facades and exterior of buildings A, B, C, and D will be modernized with sustainable, and reduced maintenance materials to align with the College’s identity. The student gathering area at the rear of building ‘A’ will be modernized with a new curtainwall system and entry to align with the new design – requiring demolition of existing components of the building. Exterior lighting systems will be updated on buildings A, B, C, and D. The building will be occupied by the owner during construction. The Construction Professional shall: Provide and maintain protected life safety and egress pathways from adjacent buildings throughout the duration of the project. Coordinate scheduling of work with the Owner. Coordinate sidewalk and road closings. Obtain all necessary permits. Maximize recycling of demolition materials. Project lay-down area will be coordinated with the Using Agency. Provide security fencing for materials and protect existing conditions surrounding project site including, but not limited to, trees, landscaping, grasses. Lay-down area shall be returned to original condition upon completion of the work. Protect site and existing paving in the laydown areas and along the route of material and personnel access to the building. Protect existing floors and building finishes during the work. Existing floors and building finishes shall be restored to previous conditions after completion of the work.
