Description | Scope of Work 1. Weekly Lawn care to include the following: Mowing: Contractor shall mow the grass every seven (7) days, or as weather permits, to maintain an appropriate even height for the type of grass and season to ensure a wellmanicured and healthy appearance. Mowing outside of the normal operating season shall only be conducted if necessary to maintain a well-manicured appearance. Edging: Contractor shall edge all tree rings, plant beds, buildings, sidewalks, fences, driveways, parking lots, playground boxes and other surfaced areas bordered by grass with each mow. Trimming: Contractor shall trim weeds and/or grass around all street signs, lamp posts, fences, and any other obstructions to maintain a well-manicured appearance. Bed Maintenance: Contractor shall provide maintenance of all plant beds continuously throughout the contract period, being kept free and clear of all weeds. Perimeter/fenced areas: Contractor shall remove all vegetation surrounding and in between buildings, fences, and cages. Clean up and Trash Removal: Contractor shall ensure all sidewalks, curbs, decks, ramps, driveways/roadways and ground level cement/asphalt surfaces are blown free of clippings, direct and debris immediately after each mowing. Contractor shall remove all debris associated with the lawn maintenance during each visit. Clippings shall not be swept, blown, or otherwise disposed of in sewer drains. 2. Fall/Spring clean up Leaf Removal: Contractor shall remove leaves during the fall and winter until trees have dropped all foliage. Leaves shall be removed from the property and discarded in an offsite landfill. 3. Mulching Muching: A new layer of mulch shall be added to all mulched areas during the month of May. All mulched beds shall be maintained free of vegetation and within the defined areas St. Joseph Public Schools (SJPS) is seeking proposals from qualified lawn care professionals to perform lawn care and landscaping maintenance of St. Joseph Public Schools properties. If an award is made, this RFP will act as the binding contract between the District and the successful bidder(s). Addresses to be bid are outlined in the bid form. The award period is for two fiscal years (2022-23 and 2023-24). All questions should be directed to Mike King, Director of Facilities at (269) 926-3391 or mking@sjschools.org. All prices quoted must be firm for 30 days. The District is not required to accept low bid, and also reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids and/or to waive any bid irregularities at the District's sole discretion based on the best interest of the District. This includes the right to award separate contracts for building(s) by area, if desired in the best interest of the District.
