Description | Progressive Design-Build Services for the TPS Roof Upgrade/Replacement Bundle - Multiple Facilities project. Project Information: Tacoma Public Schools is planning to release an RFQ early August 2023 for Progressive Design Build (PD/B) services for the proposed TPS Roof Upgrade/Replacement Bundle project. The alternate public works design-build contracting procedure authorized in RCW 39.10.300 through 39.10.330 will be utilized for the project. Qualified firms with previous PD/B experience or experience using a similar alternative construction delivery format and/or experience with projects that involved large, commercial roof assessment, upgrades and/or replacements are encouraged to submit. The funding for this project was included in a Capital Levy that was passed by the voters of the City of Tacoma in February of 2020. The estimated total budget for design and construction of this project is anticipated to be approximately $3.7M. The actual project budget will be identified in the RFQ, when released As part of Tacoma School District's commitment to investing in the community, as documented in its 2016 Community Inclusion Commitment, contractors on District projects will be expected to implement an outreach plan to attempt to meet or exceed the District's utilization goals of ten percent (10%) certified minority owned businesses, six percent (6%) certified women-owned businesses, and five percent (5%) certified small business enterprises and thirty percent (30%) local businesses on this project, based on the prime contractor's total contract dollar amount |
