Switchgear Replacement Project

The general description of the Work includes, but is not limited to the following: General Contract Description: The contract will include the replacement of the WWTP's existing switch gear, which consists of (2) main 480 VAC 3-phase 2,000-amp circuit breakers each being fed by a separate utility transformer. The breaker system also employs a "tie-breaker" between the two main breakers. The contract will include installation of a system that employs (2) separate main breakers feeding the plant from one of the two existing transformers. The breakers will be arbitrated by a dedicated programmable controller which will allow for automatic switching exclusively between the two power sources. The proposed new system will employ both replacement of the main circuit breakers as well as six (6) branch feeder breakers to the respective motor control centers in each of the plants' buildings. Branch feeders are specifically located on each end of the existing gear and will require the new system to have the same general footprint as the existing switch gear.
