Description | The eight (8) tennis courts to be resurfaced under this bid are located. A 5% Bid Bond will be required for this bid. It is the bidder's responsibility to ensure their bid proposal is received prior to the deadline. Technical questions concerning the project should be submitted in writing to rgriggs@statesvillenc.net to receive a proper response. End of Question Period is: 2:00 PM, March 28, 2023. No proposal shall be considered or accepted by the City of Statesville unless, at the time of its filing, the proposal shall be accompanied by a deposit with the City of Statesville of cash, a cashier's check or a certified check on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to but not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal. In lieu of making the cash deposit, as provided above, bidders may file a Bid Bond executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. This deposit shall be retained by the City of Statesville if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within ten (10) days after the award or fails to give satisfactory surety as required. Bid bond shall be enclosed in a separate sealed envelope with "Bid Bond" printed on the envelope. No pre-bid is being held. Bidders are responsible for visiting the project site to determine measurements and existing conditions prior to submitting a bid. The City of Statesville reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept any bid which is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Statesville. The bidder should thoroughly examine and familiarize him/herself with the Drawings, Technical Specifications and all other Contract Documents. The Contractor by the execution of the Contract shall in no way be relieved of any obligation under it due to his failure to receive or examine any form or legal instrument or to visit the site and acquaint him/herself with the existing conditions. The City will be justified in rejecting any claim based on facts that the bidder should have been aware of as a result of his site inspection. Performance and Payment Bonds, issued in accordance with Article 3 of Chapter 44A of the General Statutes, each having a penal sum in the full amount of the contract sum, will be required on such contract(s) as may be awarded. |
