Description

Base Bid: The proposed improvements for The City of Marion Recreational Complex Expansion will consist of construction site improvements including, but not limited to site clearing, grading, and construction of site consisting of two (2) GABC parking lots (+/- 5,550-SY) for events, one (1) football field, two (2) soccer fields, access sidewalks and bleacher pads, one (1) 1,000 SF playground area, and an eight (8)-foot wide half (0.5)-mile wood mulched loop walking trail. Base Bid Alternate 1 - Pavement and Striping: The proposed improvements will include approximately 2,475 SY of 2-inch Asphalt Surface (Type C), 2,900 SY LF of 3-inch Asphalt Surface (Type C), and Striping of parking spaces and directional signage. Base Bid Alternate 2 - Irrigation System: The proposed improvements will include the site irrigation systems for the two (2) soccer fields, one (1) football field, and the surrounding grassed and landscaped areas within the site and the electrical control system. Base Bid Alternate 3 - Walking Trail: The proposed improvements will include an 8-foot wide by 3-inch thick Mulch Trail around the perimeter of the site. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President's Executive Order No. 11246 and Order No. 11375, which prohibit discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. idders must deposit security with all bids. Security shall be in the form of a certified check or bid bond made payable to the Owner and shall be for an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Provisions of the security shall be as described in the Information for Bidders. No bid will be considered unless the bidder is legally qualified under the provisions of the South Carolina Contractor's Licensing Law (South Carolina Code of Laws as amended on April 1, 1999, Chapter 11, Sections 40-11-10 through 40-11-428). Each bidder shall fully acquaint himself with the conditions relating to the scope and restrictions attending the execution of the work under the conditions of this Bid. The failure or omission of a bidder to acquaint himself with existing conditions shall in no way relieve him of any obligation with respect to this Bid or to the contract. All amendments to and interpretations of this solicitation shall be in writing and issued by Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc. City of Marion or Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc. shall not be legally bound by any amendment or interpretation that is not in writing. Award of the project is contingent on funding approval by the City of Marion Council and will be based on the total cost of the base bid scope of work. Contractors shall have a proper and active South Carolina License Classification to complete this project. No bid may be withdrawn within a period of sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening and thereof. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
