Description

The second floor of Cameron will be renovated to provide space for chemistry research labs. The research laboratories of the Department of Chemistry can no longer be supported in the Burson building. The Burson building infrastructure has been renovated to the standard of a classroom/office building and can accommodate dry labs but will not support the fume hoods and ventilation needed for chemistry. Renovation of Cameron will locate chemistry research labs in a building with adequate infrastructure to support wet-bench research labs. Locating chemistry faculty offices and research labs in Cameron, across the street from the new science building, will facilitate connections between the faculty offices and research labs. The renovation will address significant deferred maintenance needs, life-safety, ADA compliance and other building code deficiencies.
