Description

Bid Security in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid. No bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of Bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive irregularities in the Bids, and to accept the bid that is in the best interest of the City. Questions concerning the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS will be directed to the ENGINEER, Matthew Movahed, P.E., mmovahed@ldaengineering.com, and copied to Lyn Majeski, Purchasing Manager, lmajeski@oakridgetn.gov. All questions will be answered by issue of an addendum. The cutoff time for all questions is noon on June 12, 2023. Any questions submitted after this time may be unanswered. All Bidders must be licensed Contractors as required by the Contractor's Licensing Act of 1994. Bidder's name, address, license number, expiration date and that part of classification which applies to the Project(s) and the name, address and licensing information for Masonry, Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical Contractors must be on the sealed envelope containing the executed Bid Form. All required items must be listed, with any item(s) that are not applicable to the Project in accordance with the Regulations to be marked "not applicable to this project". In compliance with the act, sealed envelopes will not be opened unless all required information is properly displayed. Contractor must comply with all "Drug Free Requirements" and the "Iran Divestment Act" and the "No Boycott of Isreal." All Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended. The work in general consists of construction of the following: 1. Water Main Improvements: A. Approximately 4,700 linear feet of 16-inch diameter DIP water line. B. 15 new main line valve assemblies. C. 82 new service connections. D. 12 new fire hydrant and valve assemblies. E. Other appurtenances required for a complete, functional system. F. Removal of existing fire hydrants and valve boxes as required. 2. Roadway Improvements: A. Cold planing (Approximately 6,500 square yards) and resurfacing (550 Tons E-Mix) on West Outer Drive. B. Erosion control C. Traffic control The allotted time for construction is 300 days. There shall be a tentative start date of August 1st, 2023 and a tentative end date of May 27th, 2024.
