Santa Rita Well Restoration Project (University Lands)

HUB Goal: 26% Contractor will provide the following services to University: 1. The metal tower and platform are to remain as is. Oil the existing boards on the platform at the end of the project 2. Tear down both metal buildings and pipe rack- preserve original wood decking on pipe rack for re-use, only the good, reusable pieces 3. Save and reuse the vertical Sampson post timber and the jack post timber, the band wheel, and the walking beam 4. Counter weights and crank arm will be reused 5. Rebuild Pittman arm (potentially) 6. Level ground and install new metal I-beam supports for main sill and other support beams for entire structure 7.Reuse the existing sill timber supporting the band wheel and bearing block located inside the belt house 8. Remainder of the infrastructure will be rebuilt using I-beam and wood sills, where timber is still good 9. Use wood decking to hide as much of the metal support beams as possible. All wood decking for the floor, pipe rack, and the front skirt will be made of 2” x 6” oak wood. 10. Rebuild the pipe rack with pipe/I-beam supports, C purlin and wood rails 11. Supply and install new belt from band wheel to the engine house 12.Rebuild the two metal sheds using I- beam, C purlin and metal siding & roof. Openings/windows will be cut out to view the band wheel and engine house 13. R-panel metal for the two sheds - sides and roof- grey paneling 14. Paint all mechanical equipment visible from outside the building- black 15. Oil all existing wood timbers and new wood installed 16. Polish bronze plates and repaint historic marker.
