Description | CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 10/7/2022 5:00 PM SCOPE OF WORK: Supply, deliver, and install replacement of twenty-four (24) heating/ac units where pre-existing units have been removed from hospital rooms. ROOMS: 20 rooms area approx. 250 sq. ft. each, 4 rooms area approx. 500 sq. ft. UNIT SPECIFICATIONS: All units to be commercial grade construction with digital controls, continual heat monitoring, separate thermostat settings for cooling/heating modes, optional fan mode, anti-corrosion protection, freeze protection (if room temperature falls to 40 F in an unoccupied room), quiet operation, and coil frost sensor. Choose the option you wish to bid: OPTION A: twenty (20) units (minimum 9,000 BTU each) and four (4) units (minimum 19,000 BTU each) commercial package terminal air conditioning / heat pump units, hydronic heat coil, separate fan deck assembly, digital control box, hardwired connection, and control section, with 48" x 21" enclosure WORK: for each unit secure to opening, hook into existing electric connections, reconnect plumbing fittings, open isolation valves for supply & return lines, check for leaks, verify operation of unit. Area will be cleaned of debris and tools daily OPTION B: Multizone, ductless, mini-split air systems to cover twenty-four (24) total zones WORK: for each system, install and connect components, hook into exiting electrical connections, vacuuming out the line-set and checking for leaks, verify operation of units. Area will be cleaned of debris and tools daily The work to be performed shall be started no later than twenty (20) days after receipt of a Notice to Proceed. The project shall be substantially completed within one hundred twenty (120) days. The Bucktail Medical Center reserves the right to waive any informalities in bidding and to accept or reject any or all bids. The successful bidder must enter a contract and must furnish evidence of required insurance coverage and other documents at the time and in the manner specifically set forth by the Owner. A certified check payable to the order of Bucktail Medical Center, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total of the Bid, shall be submitted with each bid. The Bidder shall include the fully completed Non-Collusion Affidavit with the bid. In addition to the Equal Employment requirements of Executive Order 11246 regarding discrimination, the contractor must establish a 3% goal for female participation and a 5% goal for minority participation in his/her aggregate on-site construction workforce for contracts in excess of $10,000. BMC is utilizing federal funds for this project, and has adopted Minority and Women Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) in accordance with Executive Orders 11625, 12138, and 12432 and a Section 3 Action Plan in accordance with Title 24 Part 135 Code of Federal Regulations. As such, the bidders must submit documentary evidence of minority and women business enterprises and Section 3 business concerns who have been contacted and to whom commitments have been made. Documentation of such solicitations and commitments shall be submitted with the bid. Successful bidder shall strive to meet the MBE goal of 5% and the WBE goal of 3% for contracts of $25,000 or more. The Section 3 Action Plan applies to contracts of $100,000 or greater and requires the contractor to strive to meet the minimum participation level of 10% of the contract amount to be awarded to Section 3 business concerns, and 30% of all new hires shall be Section 3 residents. BMC, in accordance with its Section 3 Action Plan, may provide a bid preference to a bidder who is a Section 3 business concern. MBE/WBE and Section 3 business concerns shall be afforded full opportunity to bid without discrimination. Davis-Bacon and Related Acts apply to this Project. Bids may be held by BMC for up to 60 days from the date of opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding the contract. |
