Description

Furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, expertise, mobilization, supervision and services necessary for the removal, disposal, and installation of a new pool surface at Cooper City’s Pool and Tennis Center. 1. The contractor will drain the swimming pool and relieve hydrostatic pressure if necessary. 2. Hand chip, chisel, and remove all loose plaster. If necessary, cut out and repair where reinforcing the coming through steel. 3. The contractor shall under-cut and hand chisel below the tile, around returns, and other fixtures as required, in addition to repairing all cracks. 4. Acid washes pool interior thoroughly from the coping line down to the clean etched surface to ensure proper adhesion of new surface to old. Neutralize acid wash. 5. Remove all existing tiles, including gutter and depth tiles. 6. Removal and replace of all six (6) lights with L.E.D lights. City will approve before installation. Permits are needed for installation. 7. Apply Bond Kote to pool interior following manufacturer recommendations. 8. Supply and install new slip-resistant bullnose tile on the facing of steps as per Florida Department of health regulations. 9. The contractor shall re-grout all new tiles with chemical-resistant grout, and the new tile shall match the current pool tile color theme. 10. Supply and install all new gutter frames and grates. 11. Remove existing ladders; supply and install new stain steel ladders. City will approve before installation. 12. Supply and install depth line per Florida Department of Health at 3.6", 3.9", 4", 5", 8", 8.4", and 8.6". 13. Replace non-slip floor lane line and wall target tile with new tile (6 lanes). 14. Apply Diamond Brite brand or approved equal to pool interior, color, and type to be determined ONLY by the City's project manager or designee. This product is batch mixed and hand troweled to a smooth and even finished at least ½ thickness. Then it is to be acid washed, and water washed to expose the color aggregate. Broken tiles shall be replaced with new tiles. 15. Install new Virginia Graeme Baker Act Pool Compliant main drain frames and grates, Preferably Lawson Aquatics or City approved equal. 16. The contractor shall supply and install new return fittings. 17. The contractor must set up unique water purification systems (charcoal filter tanks) to prevent the new Diamond Brite staining. 18. Completely balance new pool water with all necessary chemicals, including stabilizer, which will bring water up to Florida Department of Health standards. 19. The pool deck and surrounding areas must be left in the same condition as before work started. 20. Inspections to be determined by The City of Cooper City ONLY.
