Description

Ohio University Lancaster HVAC and Energy Efficiency Improvements Phase 2 is a continuation of phase 1, recently completed January 2021. Phase 2 is necessary in order to continue the next phases of upgrades and deferred maintenance. An HVAC assessment of O.U. Lancaster campus was conducted and a report (attached) was provided on 4/26/19 with recommended maintenance and replacement projects. The main project component of phase 2 consists of replacement of the main handler units, which serves the majority of Brasee Hall, located at 1570 Granville Pike, Lancaster, OH 43130. Brasee Hall is the primary academic building at Lancaster campus. It was built in 1968 with a total of 144,175 gross square feet. The five-story building is constructed in a split-level design. Other phase 2 components consists of the air distribution ductwork and terminal devices part of the AHU systems, improvements to the existing roof top unit and related devices serving Brasee Hall 5th floor, improvements to the air distribution devices that service the Brasee Hall vestibule and lobby, and DDC control upgrades/conversion to all the mechanical components that are a part of this phase. Building will remain occupied during construction. Alternative HVAC options must be provided during construction transitions. Building is less populated during semester breaks (winter/summer), yet continues to remain occupied by staff and faculty.
