Description | 1. Furnish and install one (1) new UL listed, Type-7, gang-operated 15kV pad-mounted switchgear with key-interlocks. The Type-7 switch supports one (1) service connection and two (2) fused exits. Furnish and install six (6) new primary fuses for the disconnect switch, six (6) spare fuses will also be supplied. The existing customer switch will be disconnected from the incoming primary conductor from the middle school and removed from the site. The existing cement pad will be saw cut to provide additional access to the incoming and outgoing cables. Install new switch over the exposed pad cutout. 2. Provide and install cable splices below new switchgear, as required. Re-connect incoming power cables to the service connection bay of the switch. From one of the fused exit bays, provide and install new 1/0 primary cable in conduit between switch and new 1,500kVA transformer, see below. From the remaining fused exit bay, re-connect primary cables connecting to the Customer’s primary transformer located at the Administration office building. 3. Provide and install one (1) new, UL listed, 1,500kVA 8,320Y/4,800V x 480Y/277V pad-mounted, dead front, feed through transformer. Existing Customer transformer will be disconnected from the incoming primary conductor and the secondary bus. Transformer will be lifted and removed from the site. A precast cement pad will be provided to raise transformer from existing concrete pad. The transformer will be orientated such that the doors will open to the west, to allow for a conduit to route through the side directly into the abovementioned switch. Note: 1,500kVA transformer is capable of supplying 1,804A and typically will serve a Customer main distribution panel rated for 2,000A or 2,500A. 4. Provide and install new cables consisting of three (3) 1/0 aluminum, 25kV rated primary underground rated cables. The cables will terminate within the fused exit of the Type-7 primary disconnect switch with live front terminations and at the transformer with dead front, load break terminations. Cable will be installed in conduit. 5. Provide and install a new outdoor rated bus tap box. Tap box will connect to existing busbar on the exterior of the building and provide a point to terminate new secondary conductors from the transformer’s load side bushings to re-energize the Customer’s main distribution panel. |
