Architectural/Engineering Services Freedom Tower Building Upgrades

Provide architecture/engineering services to address necessary Structural, Waterproofing, other repairs, and Enhancements to the Freedom Tower prior to its Centennial Celebration in 2025. The Freedom Tower was constructed in 1925 and is a Nationally Registered Historical Building, housing the Kislak Gallery and the MDC Museum of Art and Design as well as related work areas and offices. The scope of work includes the following disciplines: architecture, structure, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil and is to include a consulting expert in Historic Buildings. The project scope of work may include but is not limited to the following: Replace1st-Floor Mural Room Slab (address/relocate MEP service from under first floor slab as required) Repair East Facade Wind-Bracing Steel Structure Exterior Waterproofing and Historical related improvements as required Address Corrosion on Steel Structural Members Repair various concrete columns/beams/slabs throughout the building Address storm water and sanitary lines Elevator Modernization Lighting Fixture LED Upgrades Replacing fan coils and HVAC controls Replacing domestic water pipes including risers Bathroom Renovations Replace backflow preventers Replace water pump and water heaters Address underground retention tank Update Fire Alarm/smoke evacuation control system/replace smoke evac. Fans Repairs to interior or exterior surfaces damaged during construction New cabinetry, and flooring Coordinate with CM, Museum, campus, and facility staff to phase the project as required to complete the construction work by 2025 Coordinate with other ongoing projects in the building Design services needed for temporary relocation of Freedom Tower Operations
