Description

Pre-Solicitation Depressing Air System Upgrade Big Bend, SD. Pre-Solicitation On or about 02 August 2023, the Government intends to issue a solicitation for Depressing Air System Upgrade Big Bend, SD. The solicitation will close on or about 1 September 2023. The solicitation is restricted to small businesses. Site Visit (only include if applicable): A Site Visit will be scheduled and additional information regarding the site visit will be provided in the solicitation via FAR Clause 52.236-27. Project Description: Omaha District is interested in replacing the current four compressor configuration with two larger 2-stage rotary screw, oil-less compressors for the purpose of reducing maintenance and increasing system reliability. The project will aim to decrease the systems recovery time by increasing the compressors capacity (CFM) and the total system storage. This will be accomplished by replacing one damaged accumulator tank and adding two additional accumulator tanks as well as replacing the undersized air supply piping. This will allow two units to go into condensing mode quicker and provide the Big Bend personal the ability to conduct multiple make-up air counts during the condense blow-down cycle as there are typically multiple units operating in order to maintain 100 psi system pressure. An optional back pressure system will also be included. The Contractor will be required to commence work upon receipt of contract award and complete the work 365 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed, this is subject to change after solicitation issuance. Estimated Construction Costs (only include if applicable): The estimated construction cost of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. NAICS Code: The Primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code anticipated for solicitation is 238290 - Other Building Equipment Contractors, with a size standard for Small Business of $22M. Contracting Office Address: USACE Omaha District 1616 Capital Ave, Omaha, NE 68102-4901 Point Of Contact: All questions shall be submitted on ProjNet (ProjNet Access, and additional guidance, will be given at time of solicitation issuance).
