Description | Project Description: The General Services Administration (GSA), Great Lakes Region (Region 5), is conducting market research and is seeking sources for construction services. This project is to remove and replace the existing stormwater and sanitary lines in two (2) different mechanical shafts from the roof to the sub-basement (27 floors) within the Patrick V. McNamara Federal Building. Contractor is to furnish all materials, labor, and related work to execute this project. Work is being performed in a confined space. Some of the piping in the shafts are accessible in some areas and are behind other building utility systems in others. Work will have to be coordinated around different government agencies, work restrictions, and with minimal impact to the tenant agencies. The scope of work includes but not limited to: a. Removal and replacement of sanitary waste, vent, and storm piping in northwest and southeast utility shafts all floors. b. Reconnection of waste piping tying into sanitary riser in select locations. c. Removal of plumbing fixtures with wall and finish restoration. d. Removal of water supply piping to removed fixture locations. e. Removal and replacement of wall, ceiling construction including finishes to access piping and complete reconnection of horizontal branch piping. f. Hazardous material testing and containment for demolition of lead containing paint. g. Installation of temporary work platforms, scaffolds, and ladders including safety tie off anchors to access and complete work scope. h. Installation of temporary safety barricades and temporary fire rated shaft closures. i. Installation of special security closure Panels in Tenant secure space at the end of each work shift including review and acceptance by Tenant representative. |
