Description

Whitmore Hall Mechanical Improvements Phase II Rebid Every General Bidder must submit with their bid a Certificate of Eligibility available from DCAMM along with an Update statement before the bid may be considered.The work shall be completed on or before 08/25/2023 from the Notice to Proceed and in general the Project includes: Replace original fire dampers at main duct risers. Approximately 26 locations. Minimum rates of wages to be paid on the project have been determined by the Commissioner of Labor & Workforce Development under the provisions of Sections 26 & 27, Chapter 149 of the General Laws. Wages rates are listed in the contract form portion of the specification book. Each General Bid proposal must be secured by an accompanying deposit of 5% of the total bid. Deposits shall be in the form of a BID BOND, TREASURER'S or CASHIER'S CHECK payable to the University of Massachusetts. Deposits shall be returned in accordance with the law. All Bid Deposits $ (5% of Bid Amount) Sub-bids Submitted Under Chapter 149, Section 44f, Which Are Restricted to the U.s. By One Contractor, Which Are Deemed to Be Unrealistic in That the Price Proposed is, in the Judgement of This Awarding Authority, Substantially Less or More Than the Actual Cost to Complete All of the Work Specified in That Section of the Specifications Will Be Considered as Not Responsive to the Invitation to Bid and Shall Be Rejected. (Department of Labor & Workforce Development Ruling #136 & #169). All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of either or both Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended and Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 44A 44I inclusive. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities in or to reject any and all bids if it be in the public interest to do so. Designer: Architectural Engineers Inc **General Bid Date and time (12/21/2022 at 2:00 PM ET) Project Description and Scope: Replace original fire dampers at main duct risers. Approximately 26 locations. Bidders requiring clarification or interpretation of the Contract Documents shall make a written request to jlemire@umassp.edu. T dampers. The building shall be designed and constructed so as to meet all requirements of the Massachusetts State Building Code, current edition, in addition to all other applicable codes and regulations. b. The building, which will house UMA functions is a 3-story structure, of Construction Classification IIA, for Use Group B. Functional building areas include offices, conference rooms, building lobby, common corridors, elevator cores, cafeteria/kitchen and public toilets, building supervisory offices, and mechanical/electrical utility areas housing building equipment. B. The work will include all operations necessary to deliver the building(s) and ancillary on and off site amenities in a fully installed and operable condition including all utility and site work and obtaining all necessary licenses, permits, and certificates. Where utilities exist within and adjacent to the building(s) and ancillary parking lots, and are known by the Owner, they have been shown on the site plan(s) appearing in, but not restricted to, the exhibits. Connections to these existing utility lines will be the responsibility of the General Contractor. C. The scope of work, without limiting the generality thereof, includes all labor, materials, equipment and services required to perform the work described fully in the Drawings and Specifications and includes, but is not limited to the following major work: 1. Construction including, but not limited to: a. Phased replacement of fire dampers. This shall include demolition, new fire dampers, rework to existing fire dampers, new access doors, new fire rated gypsum board enclosures, repair to masonry walls, installation of new ductwork, etc. b. Relocation or removal and reinstallation of piping, conduit, lights, sensors, etc. to facilitate the work. c. Abatement of hazardous materials. D. Reference To Drawings: The work to be done under this Contract is shown on the Drawings listed at the end of this Section. E. Work will include all site removal and new construction for the UMA 23-10, WHITMORE HALL MECHANICAL IMPROVEMENTS PHASE II (RE-BID), UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS AMHERST including HVAC work and electrical work as required. The General Contractor will provide a schedule for completion of the project to the Owner within the required construction period
