Description

The purpose of this project is to provide channel improvements along the existing channel corridor in Mountain Dell. The completed project will increase the capacity of the drainage along the corridor of interest here, which will allow for the passage of the design event with a decreased footprint. It is expected to decrease the lateral extent of the floodplain, limiting the possibility of floodwaters reaching the homes adjacent to the channel. The Mountain Dell area is located in Township 21N, Range 07E, Section 32 within Coconino County, Arizona. It is approximately 1 mile southwest of the Interstate 40 and Interstate 17 interchange in Flagstaff, AZ and just to the south of DeMiguel Elementary School.
