Description

Contract No. 1 The project consists of the following: Modification to six (6) existing curb ramps, approximately 18,710 Sq. Yds. of milling of existing bituminous surface, and approximately 1700 tons of Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, 9.5mm, PG 64-22 Bituminous Wearing Course, 0.0 to 0.3 million ESALS, SRL 1.5 depth, complete in place. Contract No. 2 The project consists of the following: 700 Sq. Yds. of milling of existing bituminous surface, 20 tons of Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, PG 64-22, 19.0mm Leveling course and 45 tons of 9.5mm Wearing Course and 100 Sq. Yds. of Select Base Replacement. The Proposals will be reviewed and a decision to either award or reject may be made by Borough Council at their regularly scheduled public meeting to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2022 at the above address. Contract No. 1 will be funded with liquid fuels monies, escalator provisions relative to bituminous material and Penn DOT Specifications will apply to both Contracts. The minimum prevailing wages included in the Contract Documents shall be paid to all employees on this Project in accordance with PA Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961m P.L. 987. Each bid must be submitted on the forms furnished by the Owner and must be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee in the form of a certified check, or bank cashier check, or by a Bid Bond with acceptable corporate surety licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid submitted and naming the Borough of Spring City as the obligee. Bids may be held by the Owner for a period of thirty (30) days after the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids. No bidder may withdraw his bid before the expiration of such thirty (30) day period All work must be completed on or before October 31, 2022. Liquidated damages will be applied at the rate of $300.00 per calendar day for each day needed to complete the Project beyond the October 31, 2022 deadline. All Contractors must be Penn DOT Pre-Qualified for codes F, F3, and K, the Pre-Qualification Statement must be submitted along with proposal at the time of Bid Opening. Failure to submit the statement may be subject to rejection. The Successful Bidder will be required to submit a Job Mix Formula Report (TR-448A) prior to starting work. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained and/or examined at the Borough Hall. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals or portions thereof from either Contract due to budget restraints and to award the Bid in the best interest of the Borough Bid Results - Contract 1 - Charlestown Paving - $399,946.10 Contract 2 - Charlestown Paving - $21,909.00
