Agua Fria Trail Phase II (Pedestrian Bridge) - P0012 - City of Avondale

Site work and new construction of a civil project in Avondale, Arizona. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; and for site work for a bridge / tunnel. This project will design and construct a pedestrian/bike bridge including communications conduit across the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) channel connecting Friendship Park to the existing trail head recently constructed with the Agua Fria I-10 Underpass Project. This project will require a 404 permit (Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) establishes a program to regulate the discharge of dredged or fill material into waters of the United States, including wetlands) from the Army Corps of Engineers. The conduit will provide future connectivity to one of the City water facility. As of July 06, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2023. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
