| Description | 1.1 The Joint commission requires that fire and smoke dampers be tested every six (6) years to confirm that the fire and smoke dampers are operating as required and that a fire/smoke barrier is provided in all ductwork that penetrates fire/smoke rated barrier walls. 1.2 In 2017, fire and smoke dampers at University Drive were tested and a limited number of deficiencies were found. This project scope is to test the remaining fire and smoke dampers that do not meet the requirements as set forth by The Joint Commission Fire Protection Team and to bring the VAPHS up to EC.02.03.05-EP 18 – Fire and Smoke Dampers, NFPA 80, NFPA 105, and NFPA 101 standards.
