Description | The work for the Simard Payne Park Boat Ramp project shall consist of, but not be limited to, the complete and satisfactory construction of the boat ramp and other hardscape areas at the Park as shown on the project's plan set. The project includes relocation of two granite slab benches, reconstruction of a stone wall adjacent to the river/canal, construction of a concrete plank boat ramp, construction of an asphalt boat ramp, construction of a concrete paver trail widening area, earthwork for a loam and seed storage area, the eradication of invasive plants including oriental bittersweet and Japanese Knotweed, and loam and seed stabilization of disturbed area. Questions and Requests for Information shall be submitted to John Skelley (jskelley@lewistonmaine.gov) on or before noon, July 6, 2023. Please note that work for this project is anticipated to start on September 28, 2023, due to summer events scheduled in the Park. All work, including final loaming and Japanese Knotweed removal, must be completed by November 15, 2023. The successful contractor will be required to return to the site of work and remove any remaining/regrown Japanese Knotweed by May 24, 2024. Interested bidders must register with the Purchasing Agent either through direct response to the City's RFP solicitation at mryerson@lewistonmaine.gov or by contacting the Purchasing Agent Allen Ward at 207-513-3040 or award@lewistonmaine.gov to be added to the bidders list. No Proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, made out in favor of the City of Lewiston. All bid securities will be released upon deliverance of a signed Contract or, if no Contract award is made, within forty-five (45) days after the opening of the Proposals, unless forfeited as herein stipulated. The City reserves the right to negotiate with the low bidder to bring projects down to within budget. |
