Description | MBE/ WBE - 1.3%/ 1.0% This project is to build a new block and brick electrical building on the Little Miami WWTP (LMWWTP) site to house the new main plant electrical switchgear. The building is sized to house three electrical switchgear trains and corresponding motor control centers and will be climate controlled. Two electrical switchgear (one duty, one standby) will be installed as part of this project. This project will also remove existing electrical switchgear equipment that is old and failing. Other existing electrical infrastructure will be removed such as conduit and electrical distribution equipment. The Contractor will also coordinate with Duke Energy to provide both temporary and long-term electrical service modifications on the project (i.e. power poles, electrical service equipment, etc.). Duke Energy will also remove any obsolete equipment. The new electrical equipment will tie into the existing electrical systems. If a contract is awarded, it will be done so in accordance with the Contract Documents, including the method of award identified in Section H of the Instructions to Bidders in Section 00 21 13. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive technicalities, or to advertise for new bids, if the best interests of the City will be promoted thereby. Bids must be submitted in accordance with the Contract Documents and must be accompanied by the 'Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond,' certified check, or letter of credit drawn on a solvent bank in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid amount, and in no event shall be less than five hundred dollars ($500.00). Bidder shall also submit a completed Addenda Acknowledgment Form with the bid. In addition to other documents, after the Bid Opening and upon notification, the apparent lowest and best bidder will need to obtain proof of Workers Compensation coverage and a certificate of insurance within ten (10) business days, naming the City as the primary insured and the Hamilton County, Ohio Board of County Commissioners as an additional insured. See the Contract Documents, including but not limited to the Modified General Conditions, for further certificate of insurance requirements and limits of liability. No bidder may withdraw its bid within sixty (60) days after the bid opening. Bids and award of contract may be held by the City for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of bid opening, for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of the Bidder in accordance with the Contract Documents. The City shall neither accept nor be liable for any increase in costs, or other expenses, delay, loss, or subsequent ineligibility to contract with the City, incurred by a contractor as a result of the City rejecting any proposed person, firm, partner, principal, affiliate, subcontractor or supplier that is debarred or suspended after the submission of a bid, proposal, or other communication leading to a contract, but before the approval or award of the contract. Prior approval is required if a prime contractor plans to use a subcontractor for part of the work on the project. This form must be completed after bids have been submitted or contract has been awarded. All subcontractors must be submitted and approved by MSDGC Prevailing Wage Coordinator prior to the subcontractor beginning work on a MSDGC project. Direct this completed form to: michelle.schaber@cincinnati-oh.gov or mail to: Michelle Schaber, Senior Administrative Specialist, City Purchasing Division, Two Centennial Plaza, 805 Central Avenue, Suite 234, Cincinnati, OH 45202. |
