Description | Carteret County is accepting bids to award a contract to reconstruct the roadway, repair asphalt, regrade ditches and resurface on portions of Pelican Harbor Road, Gull Court, Heron Court and Mallard Court in Ward's Creek Plantation, here in after collectively referred to as "streets". The North Carolina Department of Transportation has marked the areas that need to have full depth reclamation in the subdivision. For detailed scope see 'Attachment A.' Please also refer to DOT Standard Specs - Subgrade, Bases and Shoulders (Attachment B) and Asphalt Section (Attachment C). o Project is to meet the 2018 North Carolina Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures and NCDOT Roadway Standard Drawings. o Carteret County is requesting bids to reconstruct the roadway, repair asphalt, regrade ditches and resurface the streets. Contractor will furnish all labor, materials and equipment required for the performance of the following described work in connection with the improvements to the streets. Asphalt/ABC Removal - This includes the necessary removal of material as directed by Carteret County to original subgrade material. o Pipe Replacement - Driveway or road drainage cross lines which do not achieve the desired slope or have damage must be replaced. Headwall Repair - Driveways which have headwalls that are damaged must be repaired or replaced. 1 1/2 " Asphalt Surface Course - Overlay the existing roadway after repair with a 1 1/2 " inch average asphalt concrete surface course, type S9.5A or S9.5B from a NCDOT approved plant. o 8" ABC Base - Supply and Grade ABC to an average 6" base where directed by NCDOT. o Geotextile Fabric - Place geotextile fabric on subgrade areas which are deemed appropriate by Carteret County. Clean Pipes - Clean sediment and trash from all driveway and road drainage cross lines. o Ditch Regrading and Shoulder Work - Upon completion of survey, grade ditches to drain as originally designed so that there is no standing water. Ditch slopes to Carteret County reserves the right to reject any all bids. Fully complete all work within 60 consecutive calender days The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities. |
