Description | Site work for a water / sewer project in Frederick, Maryland. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project. The purpose of this project is to analyze the capacity of the existing stormwater infrastructure in this approximately 170 acre drainage basin in the Carroll Creek watershed and develop and implement measures to alleviate flooding and provide for the safe conveyance of stormwater. The stormwater system in this location ultimately outfalls to Carroll Creek along Carroll Parkway. This area is heavily developed, with the U.S. Route 40 and U.S. Route 15 interchanges located in the center of the watershed, with commercial development in the northwest and southeast portions, and residential development in the southwest and northeast portions. Frederick High School and West Frederick Middle School are located just outside of the watershed to the northeast but are impacted by flooding that originates within this watershed. Deliverables associated with this project are: A study of the drainage basin to with recommended options for design and associated cost estimates (COMPLETE) , Designs for the selected recommended improvements including Construction Documents and Specifications ready for bid (FY23) ,Acquisition of required rights-of-way or easements (FY23) ,Acquisition of required permits (FY23),Construction of selected recommended improvements (FY24). This project is in included in the City's or County's FY 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of June 21, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
