Description | Questions. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be electronically submitted to the Engineer utilizing the "Request for Clarification of Bid Documents" (RFC) as indicated in the Project Manual. All questions must be received by Tuesday May 2nd, 2023. Completion Dates. The Work will be substantially completed by October 16th, 2023 and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions by October 31st, 2023. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes with the name and address of the Bidder as well as the project name and AES project no. 5030 clearly marked on the face of the envelope. Documents included with Bid shall be in strict accordance with Project Manual requirements including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: Bid Bond Security in the Amount of 5% - utilizing Forms provided in specification manual Project Description: Work generally includes stormwater improvement work along Dump Road. A. The project will be bid and awarded with (1) Prime Contract(s) for General Construction (GC). The proposed work approximately includes; 1. Base Bid generally includes furnishing and installing 159-LF of 18" diameter HDPE storm drain, 818-LF of 24" diameter HDPE storm drain (Note: 532-LF of 24" diameter HDPE pipe shall be owner furnished FOB, the remaining 286-LF shall be contractor furnished) , 5-EA 18" diameter galvanized steel end sections, 2-EA 24" diameter galvanized steel end sections, 4-EA storm drainage manholes with frame and cover, 1-EA catch basin with frame and inlet, heavy stone filling outlet protection, 632- LF clean, grade, and shape existing roadside section, 26-CY calcium chloride stabilization gravel surface course, roadway subbase, 7-Tons binder course HMA, 3-Tons top course HMA, erosion and sediment controls, grade and surface restoration. 2. Alternate Bid No. 1 generally includes furnishing and installing 107 CY of calcium chloride stabilization gravel surface. 3. Alternate Bid No.2 generally includes furnishing and installing 206-LF of 18" diameter HDPE storm drain, 2-EA catch basin with frame and inlet, heavy stone filling outlet protection, 632-LF clean, grade, and shape existing roadside section, roadway subbase, 10-Tons binder course HMA, 4-Tons top course HMA, 77-CY of calcium chloride stabilization gravel surface. erosion and sediment controls, grade and surface restoration. 4. Alternate Bid No. 3 generally includes 128-LF of 6" diameter PVC sewer pipe and fittings, 2-EA special drainage structures (dry wells), 2-EA manholes with frame and cover, erosion and sediment controls, grade and surface restoration. B. Alternate bids are to be awarded in the numerical order in which they are listed. However, the owner reserves the sole discretion to award none, all or select alternates and in any order.
