Description | 1. The Contractor will treat ground floor back hallway, West hallway, Cafeteria serving area, Cafeteria coffee bar area, with the Diamond Pad Buffing System: This consists of approximately 7,689 square footage. 2. All terrazzo floors, approximately 7,689SF shall be completely stripped and prepared for a diamond pad maintenance system such as 3M Stone Floor Protection System, or its equivalent. 3. After thoroughly preparing the floor, contractor shall apply the appropriate sealer, 3M Stone Floor Protection System or equivalent. 4. After sealing, terrazzo floors shall be maintained for the remainder of the contract in accordance with program requirements. 5. COR must approve processes, materials, and chemicals before proceeding. Wax shall not be utilized on terrazzo flooring. 6. The old finish or wax shall be removed in accordance with standard commercial practices. Spots shall be eliminated. There shah be no evidence of gum, bums, scuffmarks, or wax build-up in comers or crevices. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL BURNISHING OR DRY STRIPPING METHODS BE USED ON ACBM FLOORING. 7. Finishing Floors: Walls, baseboards, and other surfaces shall be free of finish residue and marks from equipment. Floors shall be free of streaks, mop strand marks, and skipped areas. The applied finished area shall have a uniform luster. 8. The Contractor must provide a schedule of preparation and the Diamond Pad application process for each floor and must be submitted to the COR by the PreConstruction meeting. 9. Contractors shall visit the site and perform a thorough site inspection. The contractor shall inspect the site to become familiar with the existing conditions relating to the work to be performed and the difficulties and restrictions to the work to be performed. 10. Drawings are intended only to provide visual representation of the design concept. 11. Contractor shall field verify actual conditions. |
