Description

The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, equipment, traffic control in accordance with the most recent version of the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual (VWAPM) to include updates, and any other Incidentals necessary to meet the requirements of the performance specifications stated within. The work shall consist of tree pruning, brush, and small tree removal (per the requirements of this IFB) and the removal and disposal of alt generated debris, unless otherwise directed. a All work shall be performed in accordance with IFB specifications and Special Provisions listed on Attachment E. The Contractor shall be capable of commencing work within ten (10) calendar days of award of the contract as a result of this IFB. Work shall be bid and assigned by the Shoulder Mile, (measured to the nearest 10th of a mile), and identified Routes shall be assigned by Work Order, The Contractor shall complete the work as identified by the Work Order and shall be responsible to mobilize the proper resources to accomplish the work by the prescribed Milestones/Completion Dates given on the Work Order. 1. Unplanned services shall be ordered as needed to address trimming needs, complaints and situations that require Vegetation Management Services as specified herein. 2. Any/all work shall only commence upon written notification (purchase order) from VDOT. One ( I ) Purchase order will be issued per award 3. Subsequent (30 Calendar Day) Work Orders shall be assigned, via email, identifying Routes to be serviced, shoulder miles to be trimmed. and pertinent information about the work area, and. Assigned work orders are expected to be complete within (30) calendar days of notification, See the Sample Work Order, Attachment L. 4. VDOT reserves the right to subtract routes from the work orders at the rates identified in the Pricing Schedule. If you plan to participate in the Mandatory pre-bid teleconference you must provide the following information via email to Jennifer.Wright@vdot.virginia.gov no later than 5:00 PM on the business day prior to the scheduled conference. o Solicitation Number and Title o Company Name and Address o Representative Name, Phone Number, Email Address. At the start of the conference the Contract Officer will conduct a roll call to identify the individuals participating on the call. Participants will be requested to provide their names, company and contact information during the roll call. Participants who did not provide their information in advance will be requested to provide their name, company and contact information during the roll call. Bids will only be accepted from those Bidders who are represented and make their participation known to the Contract Officer during the teleconference roll call. The purpose of this conference is to allow potential bidders an opportunity to present questions and obtain clarification relative to any facet of this solicitation. Have a copy of the solicitation with you. Any changes resulting from this conference will be issued in a written addendum to the solicitation. Payment will be made (in accordance with the Virginia Prompt Payment Act) within 30 days after receipt of valid invoice and verification of satisfactory goods received and/or completion of work. Invoices shall be submitted to the address listed below for all items completed within the designated billing period. The bid opening will begin promptly at the time indicated. At the start of the conference the VDOT Representative will conduct a roll call to identify the individuals participating on the call. Participants will be requested to provide their names, company and contact information during the roll call. If you are unable to access the teleconference at the scheduled time please contact the Contract Officer via email and a bid reading will be provided. The provisions of 2.2-4342 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, shall be applicable to the inspection of bids received. Any bid in response to this solicitation shall be valid for sixty (60) days. At the end of the sixty (60) days the bid may be withdrawn at the written request of the bidder. If the bid is not withdrawn at that time it remains in effect until an award is made or the solicitation is canceled. Bid prices shall be in the form of a firm unit price for each item during the contract period.
