Sharps Woods Gravity Sewer and Force Main Replacement

Project: Sharp’s Woods Gravity Sewer and Force Main Replacement: The project generally consists of not only the in place replacement of approximately 3,200 feet of existing 8” and 10” diameter ACP gravity sanitary sewer main and manholes with 10” and 12” diameter PVC gravity sewer main and manholes, but also the replacement of approximately 3,150 feet of existing 8” diameter ACP force main with 8” HDPE or PVC force main. Sharp’s Woods Interceptor and Force Main: Estimated flows for bypass operations: 1. Daylesford Pump Station and Manhole #563, Morris Lane: The average daily flow is estimated to be 503,000 gallons per day (gpd). The maximum daily flow is estimated to be 697,000 gpd. The peak flow is estimated to be 31,000 gallons per hour. See Plan Sheet PP6 for location of Manhole #563. 2. Manhole #568, Leopard Road: The average daily flow is estimated to be 163,000 gpd. The maximum daily flow is estimated to be 225,000 gpd. See Plan Sheet PP5 for location of Manhole #568. 3. Manhole #611, Byrd Drive: The average daily flow is estimated to be 34,000 gpd. The maximum daily flow is estimated to be 47,000 gpd. See Plan Sheets PP2 and MD2 for location of Manhole #611. 4. Manhole #748, Argyle Road: The average daily flow is estimated to be 98,000 gpd. The maximum daily flow is estimated to be 136,000 gpd. See Plan Sheet PP1 for location of Manhole #748. 5. Manhole #752, Hawthorne Place: The average daily flow is estimated to be 3,000 gpd. The maximum daily flow is estimated to be 4,000 gpd. See Plan Sheet PP2 for location of Manhole #752. 6. Manhole #1098, Sharp’s Woods Easement: The average daily flow is estimated to be 177,000 gpd. The maximum daily flow is estimated to be 245,000 gpd. See Plan Sheet PP1 for the location of manhole #1098. 7. Manhole #1492, Leopard Road Easement: The average daily flow is estimated to be 19,000 gpd. The maximum daily flow is estimated to be 27,000 gpd. See Plan Sheet PP5 for the location of Manhole #1492. 8. Manhole #1504, Sharp’s Woods Easement: The average daily flow is estimated to be 335,000 gpd. The maximum daily flow is estimated to be 464,000 gpd. See Plan Sheet PP4 for the location of Manhole #1504. 9. Manhole #567, Leopard Road: The average daily flow is estimated to be 498,000 gpd. The maximum daily flow is estimated to be 689,000 gpd. See Plan Sheet PP5 for the location of Manhole #567. 10. During rain storm events peak flows could increase by as much as twenty-five per cent (25%) at the noted manholes.
